About Dr. Mcgee

Education

As Wichita's only Kinesiology Diplomate, Dr. Dean McGee is dedicated to education. The origin of the word “doctor” means “to teach”, and Dr. McGee especially enjoys explaining to patients their conditions, treatment options, and practical lifestyle choices to support their ongoing health.

Dr. McGee graduated “cum laude” from Palmer College of Chiropractic-West in 1990. During his time at Palmer-West, he also served as a tutor in Biochemistry and Lab Diagnosis. These were special areas of interest, and fit well with his Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition.

After completing his doctorate, Dr. McGee achieved his Fellowship in the Acupuncture Society of America, which continued to add to his understanding of stimulus-based soft tissue therapies. Then in 2000, he fulfilled all requirements to become a Diplomate and Board Certified Teacher in Applied Kinesiology. With over 300 individualized muscle tests to evaluate the performance of virtually every joint in the body, Dr. McGee enjoys using his diagnostic skills in finding and correcting inflammatory movement patterns.

Adding to more than 30 years of first-hand clinical experience, Dr. McGee continues to learn, with the overall goals of providing his patients with the latest innovations in conservative health care.

Personal

After suffering apparently un-diagnosable stomach cramps as a child, Dr. McGee received immediate and long-term relief from chiropractic care, though he did not consider it as a profession until years later. He attended four years of Bible school after graduating from Wellington High School in 1980 but realized he wasn't meant for traditional ministry.

Searching for another way to make a real difference in the lives of others, he investigated health care and decided to pursue chiropractic for its natural, safe, and effective values. After receiving his doctorate in 1990, Dr. McGee returned to Kansas and has been serving the Wichita area ever since.

Dr. McGee and his wife Janelle enjoy an active lifestyle, which has included the P90X exercise program, and completion of the “Tough Mudder” obstacle course in 2012. They enjoy tennis, Frisbee golf, and biking, and recently completed hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in Peru as part of a CauseTREK with Compassion International.

In addition, they love music and are active with piano and vocals in their local church.

Best of all, they are blessed to share 6 children, 11 grandchildren, and another on the way.

"I have actually worked for Dr. McGee for 12 years, and before that, I came as a patient occasionally. He has helped put me back together countless times in my years of working for him, and he has helped me learn many things about the body and nutrition that continue to fascinate me today. Every day, I learn something new. I soak up the information like a sponge; it's great to know why your body does this or reacts that way.

On top of that, he is a very patient, kind man who will try his best to help you with your needs. I personally don't know what I would have done without him. He is a big part of the reason that I am healthy today."
